Step One

Apply for Admission

Ready to enroll? Applying to Butte College is the first step. Begin My Application -Create an account or log in to CCC Apply: Create your account using a personal email (not a school email) or log in if you already have an account. For more details, watch this video on how to create your CCC Apply Account. If you are having trouble accessing your existing account, call the CCC Helpdesk at 877-247-4836. -Start an Application: Once logged in, click "Start a New Application" and complete all required fields. For more details, Watch this video on how to complete your application. If you need help completing your application, contact a Butte College Recruiter by calling 530-893-7467. -Check Your Personal Email: About a week after you submit your application, you will receive an email with your Butte College Student ID number, the username for your student email address, and a temporary password. Once you have this information, you can start the next steps listed below and log into Self Service, Canvas, student email, and much more. If you did not receive an email with your user name and password, call Student Tech Support at (530) 895-2925 or email StudentTechSupport@butte.edu.

Step Two

Financial Aid, Fees, and More

Completing a Financial Aid Application can open doors to fee waivers, grants, scholarships, and loans that can ease your financial worries and allow you to focus on your studies. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using the Butte College Federal School Code 006972 BEGIN MY FAFSA Complete the CA Dream Act Application (CADAA) for students with an undocumented status: BEGIN MY CADAA
First-time, full-time students who are California residents or AB540 may be eligible to receive the Butte College Promise Scholarship (BCPS) which covers tuition and fees for up to the first two years. You must have a FA application on file to qualify.

Step Three

Complete your Career and Academic Profile

Share your past academic experiences and future goals by completing the Career and Academic Profile (CAP) Tool. Log in using your Butte College email address and password. Complete the CAP Tool before attending Orientation or meeting with a Counselor. You will not be able to register for classes until you have completed the CAP Tool. CAP Tool

Step Four

Complete Orientation & Counseling

Orientation is a great way to become familiar with the campus, academics, registration, student services and student life. -New Students attending college for the first time are required to attend In-Person Orientation where you will meet with a Counselor and register for classes.
-Transfer Students who have completed 24 units or more units with 2.0+ GPA from a college other than Butte are required to complete the Online Orientation and should schedule an appointment with a Counselor. SIGN UP FOR ORIENTATION

Steps to Apply

New Student

Complete all of the Steps to Apply.

New Transfer-In

You are a New Transfer-In Student if:

You need to complete all of the steps to enroll ; however, you are not required to meet with a Counselor in order to register for classes your first semester. New Transfer-In Students will sign-up for an Individual Counseling Appointment prior to second semester registration. Go to https://appointments.butte.edu/Counseling to schedule an appointment. Call (530) 895-2511 if you need assistance.

Returning

You are a Returning Student if:

Be sure to apply for Financial Aid, register for classes and pay your fees. Students have 7 days to pay fees from the time of registration or they will be dropped from one or more classes. The 7 Days to Pay policy is suspended for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. For more information on setting up a payment plan, please visit: mycollegepaymentplan.com

Students who have not attended in a year or more will need to submit a new CCC Application prior to registering for classes. Contact 530-895-2511 if you need help with your username and password.

Continuing

You are a Continuing Student if:

Continuing Students receive priority registration times in April and November. Check your priority registration appointment time in your My/BC Portal, register and pay your fees.

K-12

You are a K-12 Student if:

To take classes you must have a Concurrent Enrollment Permission form on file by the deadline. Visit Concurrent Enrollment for more information.

International / F-1 Visa
